The Art Basel fashion event schedule this year became almost what fashion week is. An action packed agenda, juggling, running around, double booking… So much had happened in just a few days! Here are my top picks.
Tuesday: The Webster Miami: Carlos Souza, PR genius and the brand Ambassador of Valentino was signing his book “Carloses’ Places”. A travel diary of Carlose’s jet-setting life style, his love for the design and architecture, as well as tips for favorite spots to visit and eat in, is a must have!
Art Basel W Magazine fete hosted by Editor-in-Chief Stefano Tonchi is one of the most anticipated events every year. The art issue launch at the newly opened Edition Hotel, accompanied by an exquisite dinner party at the most sought after poolside in Miami Beach, was filled with the fashion A-listers and art connoisseurs.
Wednesday: My first stop was at the shopping-cocktail party hosted by the founder of the Webster Miami, Laure Dubreuil, in collaboration with the Vanity Fair and Marc Jacobs. The next outings included the Baas Museum VIP preview of Peter Marino’s exhibit, the Wallpaper magazine’s exhibit of Brazilian interior designers, and the exhibit Timeliness Portofino sponsored by DUJOUR magazine, accompanied by beauties such as Karolina Kurkova and Adriana Lima, who just arrived from the Victoria’s Secret show in London.
Thursday: The Roger Vivier luncheon kicked off the day (see my separate story). The Visionare magazine art issue launch party was a perfect appetizer before we got our Barbie outfits on and went off to the newly opened Thompson hotel, where Jeremy Scott and the MOSCHINO team threw an unforgettable Barbie-themed bash.…Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, and Jeremy himself were crashing on the Moschino sofa in the Barbie’s house, when DSQUARED2 designers Dan and Dean stopped by to say hi! How could I and my girl-palls, Natalie Joos, Cleo, Margot and Dj Mia, resist to snap a few pics ourselves?
Friday and Saturday: art galleries viewing, street style photoshoots ( thank you Herper’s Bazaar and Diego Zuko, for my features!!) and a relaxation on the beach.
And finally, Sunday: a perfect ending to the ‘art-fashion’ week, as I got to join the stylist, photographer, fashion journalist and street style icon Natalie Joos, on the set of her vintage themed photoshoot. The full story of our vintage splurge, modeled by LA beauty Sara Staudinger (a new designer launching her own line ‘Bruit’) can be viewed on Natalie’s site Tales of Endearment.
And as we were getting carried away by unique looks in C Madeline’s store, Jeremy Scott and his PR front man Pablo stopped by to grab few pieces from this Miami vintage empire before their journey back to NY.
So much fun at this Art Basel with my friends from the fashion pack…Can’t wait for more adventures this time next year again!
