Metropolitan Museum of Art to honor American Couturier Charles James in ‘Beyond Fashion’

The Costume Institute of Metropolitan Museum of Art annual Gala in May this year will honor the greatest American couturier, Charles James.  His elaborately constructed architectural masterpieces, heavily padded and boned gowns with massive tulle underskirts set James apart as one of the stars in glamour world of haute couture. The most expected Annual Costume Institute exhibit will open shortly after exclusive preview on the night of the Gala, and stay on display from May 8 until August 10.
After previous years exhibits dedicated to McQueen (2011), PRADA and Schiaparelli (2012), or Punk in Chaos of Couture theme (2013), this year exhibit titled ‘Beyond Fashion’ will be an important tribute to american couture.
Met Gala and Ball hosted by Vogue gets each year red carpet presence equivalent to ‘Oscars’ and ultra exclusive high fashion circle of guests will be in attendance also this year. Asking price for the ticket is north of 15,000$…After all, is haute couture!
