Maison Martin Margiela and Atelier Swarovski partnered during this year’s Art Basel to present the latest jewelry collection ‘Crystalactite’ in conjunction with an exclusive art installation called ‘Stalker’, by the French artist Baptiste Debombourg.
The pieces in a revolutionary new crystal cut, fused into the white matte resin formed unique jewelry collection consisting of a pendant, ring, bracelet and brooch, defining Maison Martin Margiela’s signature style.
Guests of the VIP preview opening reception tonight were trying on progressive jewelry line and admiring the latest Maison Martin Margiella designs, while sipping champagne, talking to the artist, Swarovski executives, and friendly fashion house staff.…
The collection was displayed in innovative format, mounted into equally avant garde Debombourg’s installation of greenish glass sculptural elements, fusing the clothing items throughout the show room.
The site-specific work was created just to celebrate the extrodinary jewelry collection, perfectly suited with the concept of this fashion house known for their cutting edge style. The piece consists of shattered, dismantled and ripped raw materials that underwent a transformation from discarded everyday objects to work of art.
